






An opening ceremony of 2024-2025 Academic Year Inter-University Sports Competitions (Football, Volley Ball, SepakTakraw and Badminton) took place at the football field of Myitkyina University on 22nd January with the attendance of Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and many other concerned officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the government is making efforts to nurture physically and mentally strengthen youths by holding inter-university sports competitions. The students are urged to try their best in the inter-universities level competitions to be able to participate in Union level competitions.
Then, the Chief Minister and party cordially greeted the sport teams and received the salute of the sport teams. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister presented 2 million kyats cash assistance and sports equipment, and enjoyed the football competition between Mathematics Team and Than Lwin Ayar Team.
Later, the Chief Minister attended the work coordination meeting on resettlement of displaced persons and closing of IDP camps. At the meeting, the Chief Minister called for cooperative efforts in compiling data of displaced persons in order to provide additional assistance.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister attended a meeting for successful holding of 78th anniversary Union Day, and urged officials to carry out the tasks through collaboration and coordination. In the evening, the Chief Minsiter met with displaced cilvil service personnels at Manaw Shwe Pyi Hall, provided basic foodstuff contributed by the Republic of Korea under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) programme and comforted displaced persons.
