





Deputy Minister for Transport and Communication U Aung Kyaw Tun, accompanied by concerned officials, inspected the landslide prevention works and dredging projects in Ayeyawady Region on Saturday.
During the inspection, the Deputy Minister inspected the construction of 800 ft long embankment between 14th and 16th streets in No.3 Ward, Nyaung Tone Township to prevent from bank subsidence due to PanHlaing River erosion , dredging of 1,300 meter long and 70 meter wide area with 2 meter depth under the waterline at the entrance of Nyaungdone to improve Bo Myat Tun- Chaung Gyi waterway, construction of 200 ft long embankment in Zalun Township, dredging of 1,575 meter long, 60 meter wide and 4 meter depth under the waterline in EaitPyat Village Tract of Hinthada Township to prevent from flooding and bank erosion prevention works at Historic SatuMukhaHtupayone Pagoda in Lay Myat Nar Township.
Upon reports, the Deputy Minister instructed for systematic scrutinizing of the construction projects to meet the set standards and timely completion of the construction works in line with the work plan.
The Deputy Minister also stressed to present report on allocated fund for further flood control projects to be carried in Eait Pyat Village tract of Hinthada Township. Then, the Deputy Minister met with the district level departmental officials in Hinthada Township and provided foodstuff.
