Work Undertakings: Awareness Seminar and Disaster Preparedness Meeting

On 25th September, an awareness seminar on 2008 Constitution and Union Election Commission Law was held at Myitkyina People’s Sports Ground for the students who are eligible to vote in upcoming election.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan attended the seminar and made a speech. In his speech, the Chief Minister stressed that the seminar is organized to spread knowledge about 2008 Constitution and Union Election Commission Law among basic education high school students who are eligible to vote for the first time in upcoming election.

Next, a state election official clarified the rights and responsibilities of the citizens according to 2008 Constitution and shared the knowledge related to the action of electing and the existing election laws. In the afternoon, the Chief Minister presided over a work coordination meeting with members of State Disaster Management Committee at State Government office.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to rescue measures during severe Myitkyina flood, damage and losses due to the flood, preparedness and preventive measures for potential disasters and effective disaster responses were discussed.
