Work Coordination Meeting: UEC discusses for compilation of basic voter lists

Union Election Commission held a work coordination meeting on compilation of basic voter lists at the UEC office on 23rd January.

At the meeting, UEC member U Aung Lwin Oo gave a speech highlighting the efforts of the commission on accuracy of voter lists and successfully holding of multi party democracy general election.

As the accuracy of voter lists are crucial in holding election, the list of the eligible citizens who possess any citizenship scrutiny card and included in household census 66/6 are handed from the Ministry of Immigration and Population.

Moreover, the list of residents, deceased, missing and migrant citizens are also received from the Ministry of Home Affairs to comply with the voter lists, he added.

The UEC member called for the concerted efforts of the relevant individuals in systematic voter list compilation, assigning polling stations and compilation of household lists for respective polling stations. Then, the relevant officials presented reports on current work implementations and the meeting was concluded.
