






During this monsoon season in Sagaing Region, for the multiple crops including rice, oil crops, and the pulses currently being cultivated, efforts are being made to exceed the planned cultivation targets and achieve optimal yield rates. To facilitate achieving those targets, a coordination meeting for the 2024-2025 cultivation season for rice, pulses, and oil crops was held at the meeting hall of the regional government office in the afternoon on September 2nd.
The meeting was attended by the Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, members of the region government, relevant departmental officials, and the Chairman and members of the District Administration Body of Monywa District, as well as officials from the Naga Self-Administered Zone and the Districts of Kale, Khanti, Sagaing, and Shwebo participated via video conferencing.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw It is necessary to strive to meet the cultivation targets and achieve the desired yield rates for all crops, including rice, oil crops, and pulses, currently being cultivated in the region. To ensure adequate food security within the region, it is important to promote and enhance oil crops cultivation to meet target, which will enable export opportunities. The regional government will also support and facilitate the development of the agricultural sector by addressing the needs of various departments.
Next, the head officer of Region Department of Agriculture, Director of Region Department of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics, Director and Deputy Director of the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management clarified the related work implementations with Power Point.
Then, the Chairmen of Naga Self-Administered Zone, and the Districts of Kale, Khanti, Sagaing, and Shwebo elaborated status of current cultivation of rice, cotton and oil crops in relevant Districts and Townships during 2024-2025 fiscal year.
After supplementing necessary matters by the Region Government members, Region Chief Minister coordinated requirements upon the discussions and gave a speech of conclusion, it’s reported.
