The Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing attended the work coordination meeting of the Immigration and Citizenship Scrutinizing Work committee which is one of the work committee of the Central Committee for Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 21st November.
At the meeting, Chairman of Immigration and Citizenship Scrutinizing Work committee Union Minister U Myint Kyaing said that the Union government formed the Central Committee for Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development to carry out the stability, peace, development of Rakhine State and repatriation of displaced persons effectively and the 5 work committees are also being implemented efficiently.
The work committee is conducting bilateral coordination by forming the working groups under the bilateral agreement between Myanmar and Bangladesh for the successful repatriation process of displaced persons from Rakhine State in line with the 7 assigned duties.
Next, the work committee secretary permanent secretary U Win Zaw Aung and Director General of Immigration Department U Ye Tun Oo clarified the status of the implementing the decisions made in coordination meeting (2/2023) and the findings of on-ground inspection group and the conditions to be scrutinize and review respectively.
Then, the attendees discussed the scrutinizing and reviewing on the findings of on-ground inspection group for the repatriation with Pilot Project.
The Union Minister discussed on the discussions and suggestions, sought the decisions and gave a speech of conclusion.
