Work coordination meeting: MoEP UM held meeting on solar Power electricity project

The Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun attended a work coordination meeting regarding with Solar Power plant under the construction by the Ministry of Ministry of Electric Power was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Tuesday.

In his opening remark, the Union Minister said that this meeting is held to fulfill the electricity requirement of the country and provide the needs of the companies implementing the project. The Ministry is putting efforts to generate electricity from various sources to be able to increase electricity supply. In such a bid, the generation of electricity from Solar Power has advantages such as short construction period and generation of necessary Power within a short period of time. According to the National Electricity Master Plan (2014), the renewable Energy sources should be included at 17%. The companies need to cooperate to fulfill the need of electricity by the public as fast as possible. The arrangements are being made for the interest of both sides in the implementation.

Next, the responsible persons of the companies implementing the Solar Power electricity generation project clarified the status of work implementation and difficulties encountered, the attendees of the meeting gave necessary suggestions, Union Minister supplemented necessary discussion and gave a speech of conclusion.
