Work coordination meeting: Meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control held

The Union minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the work coordination meeting on the measures for COVID-19 prevention and control and the COVID-19 vaccination held at the Ministry of Health, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 22nd December.

At the meeting, the Union Minister gave an opening remark saying that although the COVID-19 disease has been withdrawn from public health emergency status, the infection of disease is rising in neighboring and regional countries. The meeting is held for enabling to carry out the necessary preparedness by the Ministry and the plans to maintain the momentum of vaccination coverage.

During the meeting, the current situations regarding with the COVID-19 prevention and control around the globe, status of detecting new variant of the disease, reviewing COVID-19 situation in Myanmar and the plans to be carried out, status of vaccination and further vaccination program, status of storing COVID-19 medicine and medical equipment and the preparations at the hospitals were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for health, Deputy Minister, directors General of (Minister’s Office), Department of Public Health, Medical Service, Department of Food and Drugs Administration, Deputy Directors General of the Department of Public Health, Medical Service, directors and officials concerned.
