On Sunday, the Ministry of Legal Affairs held its fifth work coordination meeting at the Legal Advocacy Center in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of Union Attorney General Union Minister for Legal Affairs, Dr. Thida Oo.
The session focused on reviewing the activities undertaken by the Union Attorney General, as well as regional and state advocates general and legal officers over the past six months. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Attorney General emphasized the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance its legal functions through collaboration with international organizations.
She also stressed the implementation of new cooperation plan for 2024-2025, in line with the Memorandum of Cooperation between Russia and Myanmar. She instructed regional and state law offices to strictly adhere to legal guidelines and ethical standards as outlined by the State Administration Council before filing lawsuits, aiming to build public trust.
In addition, the Ministry is maintaining the Myanmar Legal Information System (MLIS), funded by the national budget, and implementing an E-Library system to enhance legal research and study. Following the guidance of the SAC Chairman, the Ministry is also actively disseminating legal knowledge through specialized training courses for senior civil service personnel.
And, the Union Attorney General urged all legal offices to place special emphasis on legal dissemination activities in accordance with these guidelines. Next, the Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney General reported on work undertakings.
This was followed by presentations from relevant legal personnel detailing their sector-specific activities. Afterward, the directors-general addressed the reports with detailed responses and the Union Attorney General coordinated the discussion.
