Work Coordination Meeting: Discussion on sufficient water supply in Pyin Oo Lwin

On 20th April at National Landmarks Garden in Pyin Oo Lwin Township of Mandalay Region, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Mini Aung Hlaing attended a work coordination meeting on sufficient water supply within the region and made a speech.

In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed on preserving adequate water resources, drafting long-term plan to ensure sustainable drinking and agricultural water supply to cover the increasing population within the region.

Then, the officials made clarifications on water resources of the region, water storage at the dams, drinking water and agricultural water distribution and further plans to ensure sufficient drinking water supply.

Upon clarifications, the Prime Minister stressed to make research on annual water storage and availability of the dams, systematic preservation on watershed forests near dams and precautionary measures to prevent water loss from the dams.

He also emphasized on systematic and standardized structures of the dams and continuous research and ground surveys as per respective sectors for water sufficiency. After the meeting, the Prime Minister and officials made an inspection tour to National Kandawgyi Gardens by a motorcade.
