Work Activities in Kachin State: Religious occasion & Union Day commemorative event

Led by Kachin State Government, well-wishers donated gold foils to 1,000 Arhats Shin Pin Myat Swa Wish Granting Pagoda to its full circumference. For successful completion of the donation, a ceremony to hoist diamond bud and vane was held at the pagoda, situated on Shwe Moe Hill, in Mongnar Village-tract of Wai Maw Township on Saturday.

The congregation received the Five Precept from the Wuntho Monastery Sayadaw, and listened to the sermons. After submitting the religious matters, the donated items including the diamond bud and vane were offered to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha by Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife and officials.

The congregation then shared the merits gained, and conveyed the donated items around the pagoda in clock wise position. At the auspicious time, the diamond bud and vane were hoisted atop the pagoda. The members of the Sangha later consecrated the pagoda and recited the parittas.

After the ceremony, the rice, offertories and cash donation were offered to 270 Sayadaws, members of the Sangha and nuns. On the same day, the Chief Minister and party visited No.9 basic education high schook in Myitkyina and encouraged the participants at the State level competitions for essay, article, painting and English proficiency, commemorating the 77th anniversary Union Day.
