Winter sports with local characteristics in China

Winter sports with local characteristics are creating fun for residents and tourists in China. While launching a series of activities integrating ice and snow sports with cultural tourism on Dec 20, Jixi City in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province also opened its third winter games for residents.

More than 2,000 people including locals and tourists participated in the opening ceremony. The event included ice hockey matches and special sports such as dragon boat races on ice and ball-carrying running races, where both the winter sports enthusiasts and audiences shared the joy of competing on ice and snow.
