Williams installed as Manhattan's top prosecutor

Damian Williams has made history after being sworn in as the first Black top federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York. The region's first Black female chief justice administered the oath of office in a ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Williams will oversee ongoing investigations of former President Donald Trump. He made his name as a tough federal securities fraud prosecutor and promised to continue the charge.
