Wildfires rage across Türkiye

As summer temperatures continue to climb across Turkiye, multiple wildfires have erupted in various regions of the country. The heatwave has pushed thermometers past 40 degrees Celsius in the Aegean Region, creating dangerous conditions for forest fires.

Wildfires have broken out in Izmir, Bursa, Tekirdag, Sakarya, and Adana, prompting emergency responses. In Antalya, fires erupted in three districts. Several neighborhoods were evacuated as a precautionary measure due to the approaching fire.

However, efforts faced a tragic setback in Adana, where a firefighting aircraft crashed while attempting to scoop water from the Seyhan Dam Lake. The plane went down during a low-altitude manoeuvre and disappeared into the water. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid activities that could spark additional fires, warning that dry conditions and strong winds may continue to fuel the flames.
