Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited quake-hitCugenang and other affected area in Cianjurdistrict on Thursday and promised to send more tents and to help rebuild.

The president pledged to rebuild its infrastructure and provide assistance of up to 50 million rupiah to each resident whose house was damaged.Widodo told that steep conditions, rain, aftershocks and an unstable ground were making search efforts difficult in the mountainous district.

Many of the more than 1,000 rescue personnel are using backhoe loaders, sniffer dogs and life detectors to speed up the search.Widodo said the focus for rescuers in Cianjur would remain on evacuating and finding dozens of people who were still missing from Monday's earthquake that killed at least 271 people.
