The World Health Organization (WHO) and partners accessed the Al-Aqsa hospital in central Gaza, providing trauma supplies, medicines, and tetanus toxoid vaccines to address the health needs of 3,700 patients.
The hospital has gradually restored functionality, expanding from just five doctors in January to approximately 300 physicians and 400 nurses currently. The hospital urgently requires beds, mattresses, surgical supplies and equipment, anesthesia, painkillers, and dialysis supplies. Additionally, the United Nations Population Fund and, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, assisted enough supplies and medicines for an estimated 3,000 safe deliveries.
