



To develop the MSMEs businesses in Myanmar, the government is providing loans to the MSME business owners from the State Economic Promotion Fund. With the fund, it is convenient to run Magway snack business in Duya Township of Hinthada district.
Duya Ma-Yway or Sachima is a well-known local snack of Hindatha district. Duya town is located on Hindatha- Yangon motor road and travellers passing on this road buy Duya Ma- Yway as a return gift.
Aung Ko Lin ,Kaung Myat Ma-Yway Snack Industry ,Duya Township said " This is our family business as the local product. There are 4 types of ingredients in Ma- Yway or Sachima such as rice vermicelli, brown slab-sugar, maltose and edible oil. Hinthada is a rice producing area and raw materials for snack are easily available. The government has provided loans from state economic promotion funds for us. It is a lot of supports for us."
In Myanmar, a total of 99 percent of businesses across the country are MSMEs. The Covid-19 pandemic severely impacts on the MSME businesses and the government is providing assistance to revitalize them.
Nay Aung ,Township Administrator ,Duya Township said " The government has provided about 10 billion kyat loans from the state economic promotion fund for Kaung Myat Ma-Yway snack business. It supports a lot for MSMEs business owners."
Ma-Yway snack from Duya Township is a well-known souvenir among the visitors and these are mostly transported to Ayeyarwady, Sagaing, Hpa-An and Yangon.
