Welcoming Victorious Athletes: Myanmar national tag ball team arrived back at Yangon

At the 20th Asian Games held from September 17 to 20, 2026, at the Nagoya City Higashi Sports Center in Aichi-Nagoya , Japan, the Myanmar national tag ball team competed and won the medals.

Khin Hnin Wai won one gold medal in the women's individual tag ball event, the pair of Su Mon Aung and Phyu Phyu Than won one silver medal in the women's doubles tag ball event and Saw Friday won one bronze medal in the men's individual tag ball event.

The coaches and athletes of the Myanmar national tag ball team who won medals at the 20th Asian Games, returned to Yangon by air from Thailand Monday evening, where they were warmly welcomed with congratulatory flower bouquets by Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Bo Htay, officials from the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports and the officials and students from the Sports and Physical Education Institute (Yangon), Chairman of Myanmar Tag Ball Federation, Dr. Htet Khaing Win, and executive members and parents, relatives, and friends of the competing athletes.

Furthermore, the Myanmar national tag ball team, which achieved the successful medals, was awarded cash prize of honor by the State amounting to 60 million kyats, 60 million kyats from the Myanmar Football Federation, and 60 million kyats from Myanmar Tag Ball Federation, a total of 1,80 million kyats in cash prize of honor presented by the Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs, officials from the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports, and the Chairman of the Myanmar Tag Ball Sports Federation, it was reported.
