Welcoming ceremony: Kayah State CM attended the ceremony

The 2025 academic year welcoming ceremony for the Nursing and Midwifery Diploma (3-year program), Batch 31, at Kayah State Nursing and Midwifery Training School (Loikaw) took place at the school’s training hall on January 22. The event was attended by the Kayah State Government, Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, the State Chief Justice, state government members, relevant departmental officials, teachers, and trainees.

During the ceremony, second-and third-year trainees opened the event with a performance of the song “Mingalaba.” In his opening speech, the Chief Minister stated that the establishment of these training programs aims to produce well-trained healthcare personnel to provide quality healthcare services to the public. These professionals are being trained to meet the needs of the National Health Plan. He also emphasized the importance of improving the curriculum, enhancing the skills of nurses, ensuring continuous education, and addressing other necessary needs, with the support of both the Union and State governments.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister provided the rice, oil, meal allowances, and the cost of textbooks for the students. The Deputy School Principal, Daw Mar Mar Swe, along with two trainee representatives, received the provisions on behalf of the students. Additionally, state government members contributed to the training school’s operational costs, which were accepted by the school’s officials. The Deputy School Principal delivered the welcoming speech for the first-year trainees.

Following this, the first-, second-, and third-year trainees performed traditional Kayah and Shan ethnic dances, along with Myanmar traditional dances. These performances were recognized, and the State Government’s Secretary presented cash prizes to the performers. After that,  the first-year trainees had a group photo session, and the Chief Minister offered words of encouragement and cordially greeted  the trainees.
