Welcoming Ceremony: 2022 State and Region Billiards/Snookers Tournament

The welcoming ceremony of the contestants who will participate in 2022 State and Region Billiards and Snookers Tournament was held at the Shan State Training Stadium in Taunggyi on Thursday. Shan State Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun said that it is honoured for Shan State to have an opportunity to host the State and Region Billiards/Snookers Tournament for the 1st time.

The aim for holding the contest is to exchange different playing styles of respective players in regions and states, to have friendship among the ethnic people and to have a chance for the contestants to study the general knowledge and culture of Shan State.

The Chief Minister called for contestants to participate in the contest with the concept for the development of Myanmar billiards. Later, the State Chief Minister presented cash assistance provided by the State government for the participating teams and holding the contest to officials.

The State Chief Minister, the State Ministers and officials cordially greeted the contestants from Regions and States. The 2022 State and Region Billiards and Snookers Tournament will be held from 22nd to 29th September and 13 participating teams will participate in the tournament.
