


Under the Olympic Solidarity program of International Olympics Committee, the Weightlifting Coach training course (level-2) was launched at the multipurpose hall of Gold Camp in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs in his capacity as Chairman of Myanmar Olympics Committee U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Ministers, departmental heads, Chairman of Myanmar Weightlifting Federation, concerned officials, technical experts of International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and trainees.
During the ceremony, Union Minister said that Myanmar won 2 gold and 2 bronze medals in the Weightlifting events of 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia and the current weightlifting course is opened with the aims to improve the level of weightlifting standard.
He stressed on improving the weightlifting standards in the combination of technical skills, knowledge and experiences.
Then, technical expert Dr. Aphinya Dattuyawat, assigned by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) delivered a greeting message. The weightlifting coach training course (level-2) will be opened from 7th to 11th August with 20 trainees.
