Weightlifting Sport Final Event: Sports & Youth Affairs UM attends the event

Aiming to develop the standard of Weightlifting Sport and turn out new generation weightlifting athletes, 2023 Region and State Weightlifting Competition was held in Nay Pyi Taw from 12th to 16th September.

At the final event and awarding ceremony of the competition was held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in the morning on 16th September with the attendance of the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Minister, Director General of the Sports and Physical Education Department and officials.

At the final event of the competition, men 96/102/109 kilo events, women 76/81/87 kilo and above events were included. After the competitions, the awarding ceremony was followed.

And, the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and concerned officials presented awards to the winners. It’s reported that 13 men and 11 women weightlifting teams, altogether 172 weightlifting athletes participated in the event.
