Weekly collective cleaning: Kachin State CM viewed and encouraged

The weekly collective cleaning tasks organized by the Kachin State Government on every Saturday are being conducted in the religious places, public areas and school compounds. At 7 Am on August 19, the cleaning tasks are caried out at the compounds of Basic Education High Schools in Myitkyina Township.

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, together with State Government Ministers, departmental officials inspected the cleaning tasks such as garbage and bushes clearance as well as drainage excavation which are being carried out by the State/District/Township level departmental staff and members of Myanmar Police Force at the school compound of No. 1 and No. 8, Basic Education High Schools in Myitkyina Township.

Then, Chief Minister and party attended a collective tree planting ceremony at Sitapu Ward of Myitkyina Township.

At the tree planting ceremony, the Chief Minister along with State Ministers, departmental officials, members of the Kachin State Clean and Green Team, Township Development Committees and members of the KachinĀ  cultural association, collectively planted 30,000 saplings of shady trees at the surrounding environ of Manaw ground. Then, the Chief Minister called for an effort to maintain the Manaw ground which is a memorial landmark and major tourist attraction and coordinated the needs for having clean, green and beautifying environ around Manaw ground.

Next, the Chief Minister attended to the ceremony of paying obeisance to the teachers and fresher welcome ceremony of Zoological Department for 2023-2024 academic year at Myitkyina University and enjoyed the traditional dance performances of the students.

Then, the students paid respects to the Chief Minister and wife who are the alumni of Myitkyina University, the State Ministers and their wives, Rector, Pro- Rector, Professors, and the teachers.

After that, the Chief Minister said that paying respect to the elders is a noble practice. All students need to work hard to become skillful citizens who can shoulder the state duties in the future, he added.

After that, the Chief Minister and officials concerned awarded certificates of honor and cash rewards to outstanding students of literature and sport sector and enjoyed the dance performances of students.

Later, the Chief Minister and party attended to the 8th Waso robe offering ceremony of Shan ethnics at Khaymar Thiri ward of Myikyina Township and provided cash donation to them.
