Water Resources Issues :Dy Minister attends discussion on sustainable devt.

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw attended a discussion on sustainable development of water resources in Myanmar. During the discussion at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, the Deputy Minister said that the country is rich in surface and underground water resources, but the abundance of water resources and the condition of their existence are different from place to place.

The discussion focused on solving water scarcity problems due to climate change, timely provision of water in areas with urgent needs, cooperation among the ministry, river basin organizations, concerned departments and the private sector and availability of water sources, consumption and sustainable development issues based on the Myanmar National Water Policy while studying the operations of water-related management organizations from 10 countries as a model.
