Waso Full Moon Day: Myathalun Pagoda is crowded with pilgrims

Waso full moon day, also known as Dhammasetkya Day is the beginning of Buddhist Lent for all Buddhism. It was the day when the Lord Buddha-to-be was conceived and when the Prince Siddhartha left the luxurious life in search of Truth Dhamma after seeing four omens, Old age, sickness, death and a wondering ascetic. And also, it was the day when the Lord Buddha delivered his very first sermon “Dhammasetkya”. 

Member ,Aung San Oo ,Board of Trustee (Myathalun) said " Over a thousand pilgrims come to the pagoda daily. But on this auspicious day, at least 7,000 pilgrims will visit the pagoda. We made preparations of flowers, candle lights and water for the pilgrims to offer the pagoda.   I would like to invite the people from all region and state to come here."

At the Myathalun Pagoda in Magway Region, the pagoda is crowded with pilgrims on the full moon day of Waso.

Visitor ,Yu Yu San said " I’m from Rakhine State and now, I live in Magway region for my course. I’m here to pay homage to the pagoda with my friends on this special occasion. And I usually come to the pagoda on my holidays. And I’m very pleasant to seeing of pilgrims are doing good deeds on this special day."

The Magway Myathalun pagoda is full of pilgrims daily and also on the auspicious days, visitors from across the country visit to homage the pagoda.
