Wahnet elephant camp: Visitors can feed elephant buffet

Elephant lovers and visitors who visit Wahnet elephant camp can donate elephant buffet.

Wahnet elephant camp is located on the road section of Yeywa Dam between Mandalay City and PyinOoLwin Township. There are eight elephants including three males and five females in the camp.

Thadar Shin Thant , In-charge , Wahnet Elephant Camp, said " You can feed the elephants. The feeds of elephants are divided into two categories: elephant food rice and elephant food buffet. If you want to make a birthday or donation, you can offer elephant food buffet. We prepare elephant buffet with three seats for the elephants so that they can have their favorite food as they like. "

Kyaw Zaw Win, Pyin Oo Lwin, said " I love animals. We can always feed other animals. But, Elephants can only be fed in a private area. It takes only 20 minutes to reach the camp from the 16- mile gate on the road to PyinOoLwin. It doesn't cost too much to feed the elephants. We can take elephant rides and can also shoot pre-wedding photos."

Elephants can be fed with a variety of fruits in a buffet.

Chit Win, Asst. General Manager, Mandalay Rafting Area (In-charge), said " Before, we set at 50,000 kyats for per feeding. We could arrange variety of fruits. Now, we can arrange buffet beautifully with about 80,000 kyats and can feed fully them."

At present, the number of visitors to the Wahnet elephant camp is larger during holidays. The camp provides services for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the natural forest landscape, have a joyful rest and take elephant rides.
