VSG in Rakhine State: Rehabilitation measures and providing relief items

Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife and party went to Kyauk Taw and Rathadaung that have been affected by Cyclone Mocha on Friday.

They inspected the situation of damages, relief and rehabilitation measures. They met with the local residents and departmental personnel on separate occasions and gave speeches. He stressed the needs to make cooperative efforts in rehabilitation measures together with the rescue organizations.

It is needed to collect data for systematic implementation of the rehabilitation works. He called for cooperation of all concerned persons in respective townships in implementing the rehabilitation measures in order to become a better situation before the cyclone.

The attendees later reported on the needs and the Vice Senior General coordinated the requirements. He also provided foodstuff to the cyclone victims and departmental staff as well as the fire brigade members who are contributing in the rescue and relief measures in Rathadaung.

During the trip, the Vice Senior General and party went to Kyauk Taw and Rathaedaung Stations, and comforted the military officers, Tatmadawmen and families who have been affected by the disaster. They also attended to the needs and provided foodstuff.
