Vovinam competition: 2023 Regions and States Vovinam competition opened

The opening ceremony of the 2023 Regions and States Vovinam competition was held in Wunna Theikdi Stadium (A) in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by members of State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, U Maung Ko, Dr. Aung Kyaw Min, Dr. Kyaw Tun, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyein, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental officials, responsible officials from Myanmar Vovinam Association, trainers and athletes.

At the Ceremony, the Union Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that the Regions and States Vovinam competition was held since 2016 and already reached 4th time this year.

He urged all athletes to compete with the utmost sportsmanship spirit, showing their strength and capabilities to achieve victory for their representative teams in the competition and to practice and try hard to become qualified athletes to uplift the prestige of the country.

Then, SAC members and the Union Ministers greeted the athletes and watched Vovinam duo demonstration event (Men) and Vovinam single attacking event (Men).

The 2023 Regions and States Vovinam competition was set to take place in Wunna Theikdi Stadium (A) from 17th to 20th July. A total of 221 athletes will be participated in this competition and those who are interested in vovinam can join with free of charge, it’s reported.
