Voters cast ballots in Lisbon on advance polling day for Portuguese elections

The head of the Centre-right opposition, the new leader of the Socialist Party, and the founder of a far-right formation are the main candidates in Portugal's 10 March legislative elections.

With one week to go before the parliamentary elections, Portuguese voters who can't make it to the polls that day are casting their votes in advance at a polling station in Lisbon. The President of Portugal also took the opportunity to come and vote, encouraging the Portuguese people to fight against abstention, which could be high during the elections.
