Voter List Accuracy: MOIP Union Minister visits Bago

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing who also serves as Chairman of the Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration, together with the Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Chairman of Bago Region Ground Census Enumeration Supervising Committee, inspected the voter lists accuracy tasks, carried out by the members of the Bago Region Election Commission and personnel from the Ministry of Immigration and Populationon 28th November.

The Union Minister called on the concerted efforts of the relevant organizations for the accuracy of voter lists and provided foodstuff for the staff.

In his speech, the Union Minister instructed to fix the inaccuracy and correct the errors of the voter lists due to relocation, deaths and various circumstances in timely manner and called for the strict supervision and scrutization of the lists to secure the citizen’s right to vote.

Then, the Chief Minister in his capacity as Chairman of the Bago Region Supervising Ground Census Enumeration Committee presented clarifications on necessary amendments to ensure voter lists accuracy and further departmental collaborative tasks. Then, the security measures and current work implementations of the respetive departments were presented.

Upon reports, the Union Minister coordinated requirements. Earlier in the morning, the Union Minister met with the region/district and township staff officers at Bago Region Staff Officer’s office and instructed on accuracy of voter lists, ensuring the voting right of all eligible citizens and coordinated necessities.
