Vocational Training: Weaving Courses Conducted In Hpa-An Township

Weaving and Vocational Training School in Hpa-An Township of Kayin Sate is conducting the On job Weaving Training as a measure to assist in economic remedy during COVID-19 outbreak.

The training is conducted under the COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP). The courses at the training include weaving of shawl and scarf and natural dyeing process. 

The Headmistress of the training school said this program will help the beginners to learn the modern techniques of weaving process.

Headmistress, Weaving and Vocational Training School, Akari Aung Aung  said “The trainees who are attending in this course have already studied the basic step of weaving. As the weaving industry is temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, they can study modern weaving techniques through this training.”

The weaving products by the trainees will be sold out for income generation.

10 trainees are attending at the 24-day on job training and they are also provided with the daily allowance throughout the training period.

Headmistress, Weaving and Vocational Training School, Akari Aung Aung said “The on job training will take 24-day and 10 trainees are attending in the course. 4,000 kyats will be provided to the trainees per day for the convenience of living during the training.”

The training is also conducted in line with the preventive measures for COVID-19 diseases like hand washing, temperature screening and wearing masks as per the instructions of Ministry of Health and Sports.
