Visit to MRTV: Audition for News Anchors and upgrading of studios

Union Minister for Information U MaungMaungOhn visited Myanma Radio and Television in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone Township on Thursday.

At Conference Room, the Union Minister heard reports on the audition for news anchors for various MRTV Channels including MRTV HD and MITV. He instructed the news anchors to be smart and confident in presenting news for the audience. During the closing remarks, the Union Minister said that state media plays a pivotal role for the country highlighting to implement for national defence duty, national integration, providing awareness for the public through entertainment programs and security measures.

Afterwards, the Director General of MRTV reported on four projects being implemented by the MRTV budget during 2023-24 fiscal year and a project to be implemented in 2024-25 fiscal year. The Union Minister gave necessary instructions. After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected completion of the upgrading SD system to HD format at News Studio (1).

The project is being implemented by TMW Enterprise after winning tender bidding with 1.57 billion kyats. The Union Minister also inspected the work progress of upgrading SD to HD system at Presentation Work Stations 3 and 4, being carried out by the tender winning company, Elevate Broadcast Myanmar Company, with the use of 3.38 billion kyats.

In addition, the installation of LED Wall in the Auditorium has been carried out by TMW Enterprise by winning tender with 549 million kyats. Likewise, the upgrading of Air Con system (Chiller) for MRTV main building is being implemented by Constructive Engineers Company, with 1.24 billion kyats tender bidding. The Union Minister later inspected the process of the Convergence News Room System, that will be upgraded during 2024-2025 fiscal year.
