Visit in China: Union Minister attends opening of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing and delegation attended the opening ceremony of the2023 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum at Lianyung New City Hotel in Jiangsu Province in Chinaon20th of September.

The ceremony was attended by the Security Ministers, deputy ministers and concerned officials from over 50 countries. At the ceremony, Member of the State’s Council of the People’s Republic of China and the Minster for Public Security Mr. Wang Xiaohong gave an opening remarks. And then, the ministers, deputy ministers and representatives of respective countries gave introduction remarks physically and virtually.

After the opening ceremony, Union Minister U Myint Kyaing received the Member of the State’s Council of the People’s Republic of China and Minister for Public Security Mr. Wang Xiaohong. During the call, Minister for Public Security Mr. Wang Xiaohong highlighted promoting the existing friendly relations and bilateral cooperation, cooperation in preventing illegal entry/exit from borders of the two countries, drug and human trafficking and gambling through online games, achieving in exposing transnational crimes, drug trading and financial frauds, China’s plan to cooperate in the repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine State, opening the new border gates and more cooperation in immigration processes. Then, the Union Minister expressed words of thanks for China’s supports and assistance to Myanmar.

Then, he also said exposing illegal tasks in the area of armed terrorists in Myanmar-China border and clarified the rescue measures for the illegal foreign nationals including Chinese people who illegally arrive there.The meeting also discussed matters on reducing the sentences of Myanmar nationals who have been detained in China and sending them back to Myanmar, allowing Myanmar and Chinese nationals who hold passports to entry/exit through Muse-Shweli gate of Myanmar-China border and closer collaboration in ensuring peace and stability of the border area of the two countries.After the discussion, they exchanged commemorative gifts.
