Virginia residents prepare against coming Hurricane Florence

People in Norfolk City of U.S. state of Virginia have been busy preparing against the coming Category 4 Hurricane Florence. The fire department of Norfolk has asked local residents to evacuate and make preparation in advance. Residents in coastal area have been cleaning the beach and reinforce their residences. The municipal government has already prepared five shelters for evacuees.

Many residents are also making sandbags on the beach. Hurricane Florence is predicted to land between South and North Carolina on Thursday local time. Washington D.C. on Tuesday declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm, joining South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.
