Virginia governor visits Japan, keen to grow ties

The governor of Virginia is in Japan Thursday and he hopes to further forge trusted supply chain relationships with U.S. friends and allies around the world. During Governor Glenn Youngkin's first trip to Asia, he visited Taiwan and will visit South Korea after Japan to further advance Virginia’s economic interests.

Youngkin met leaders in sectors like pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and automobiles. U.S. Ambassador to Japan highlighted that several governors have visited Japan in the last year, reflecting their need to diversity their supply chain.
