


Following the identification of two Nepali citizens who contracted monkeypox after returning from Saudi Arabia, Nepal Government has intensified vigilance on international arrivals.
Among the two infected, one has already been treated and returned home while the other is receiving treatment at Teku Hospital in Kathmandu in stable condition.
Health and Population Ministry has been closely monitoring and providing awareness to passengers arriving in Nepal through health desks at the airport to prevent the spread of Mpox. On Wednesday, Health Minister Pradeep Poudel held discussions with relevant authorities regarding the precautions being taken to combat the risk of Monkeypox in Nepal.
After conducting an on-site inspection at Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister Poudel called a meeting with concerned officials, urging them to ensure effective services to prevent the spread of the disease.
