Hundreds of people gathered in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park to honour domestic helpers who died in a major fire that killed at least seven Indonesians and one Filipino, according to their respective consulates. Police announced on Sunday that the overall death toll from the blaze had risen to 146, with search efforts still underway. Members of the Indonesian and Filipino communities attended the vigil to show solidarity with the victims’ families and fellow migrant workers.

Dolores Balladares, Chairperson, United Filipinos in Hong Kong said  "We are praying that hopefully there will be no more casualties in this fire tragedy. Though we know that there are 150 more are missing but we cross our fingers, hopefully they are still safe."

Participants offered prayers for the dozens still unaccounted for as officials continue rescue and recovery operations.
