Vietnam Water transportation safety

During the onset of this year’s flood season, incidents such as a boat crashing into a bridge pier and capsizing occurred in northern region of Viet Nam due to high river water levels and turbulent flows.

In response, the inland waterway management force in northern rivers deployed personnel to safeguard boat operations in high-risk flood zones. Plans have been made to maintain safety for both vehicles and bridges across rivers by deploying rescue ships. The force will provide support when it receives any reports of distress from vehicle owners.
