Late Friday night, U.S. time, a series of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between Vietnamese and American companies in Washington, D.C., aimed at boosting bilateral agricultural trade. A total of eight MoUs worth 675 million USD were inked.

Earlier in Maryland, other agreements totaling more than 300 million USD had also been signed. Over the past week, Vietnamese enterprises have signed cooperation deals in Iowa, Ohio, Maryland, and the U.S. capital, collectively worth over 2 billion USD. With ongoing negotiations, the total figure could rise to nearly 3 billion USD.

The deals cover key commodities like livestock feed ingredients, meat, timber, and other agricultural products—serving both domestic markets and Vietnamese exports back to the U.S. American businesses commended Viet Nam’s efforts to facilitate trade through tariff reductions and streamlined administrative procedures.
