Viet Nam, South Africa issue joint statement

Viet Nam and South Africa have issued a Joint Statement establishing a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s working visit for the G20 Summit and bilateral talks.

Both sides agreed to strengthen high-level delegation exchanges, support multilateralism, and reform global governance to better reflect developing countries’ interests, while emphasising the central roles of ASEAN and the African Union.

Cooperation will be enhanced in defence, training, UN peacekeeping, and non-traditional security, alongside accelerating agreements and regular policy dialogues. Economic, trade, investment, and tourism ties are key pillars, with aims to boost two-way trade, open markets, and promote direct flights.
