Viet Nam promotes sea turtle conservation

Currently, sea turtles in Viet Nam are endangered as they face many dangers. This is the first time a turtle has been spotted in Nha Trang Bay in many years.

In the 1980s, 10,000 turtles came ashore to lay eggs per year, but by 2019, there were only 450 individuals left. Since October 1, 2023, Nha Trang Bay has had regulations to stop tourists from bringing disposable plastic items on boats.

This is one way to limit plastic waste discharged into the sea, avoiding dangers to sea turtles.To conserve these endangered species, locals are also urged to establish a protected area for turtle breeding and maintain the marine environment.
