Viet Nam launches US$1 million AI award

Vietnamese tech companies have launched the country’s largest artificial intelligence prize.

The Âu Lạc Grand Prize, announced on Monday in Hanoi by the Âu Lạc AI Alliance and FPT Corporation, offers a million US dollars to promote AI research and the development of homegrown technology. The award will recognize AI products and solutions that are already completed and applied in real-world settings.

Entries will be judged on social impact, innovation, technical mastery, sustainability, scalability, and adherence to AI ethics. Winners will not only receive the cash prize but also strategic mentoring, technical support, and international market connections from leading technology firms. The inaugural award ceremony is expected in November 2026.
