Viet Nam, Laos strengthen bilateral relations

Viet Nam Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan held talks with top Lao leaders during her visit to Vientiane, meeting General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and Vice President Pany Yathotou.

Both sides agreed to intensify the implementation of high-level agreements, advance key economic projects, and strengthen infrastructure and financial connectivity, identifying economic cooperation as a central pillar of bilateral ties. They also committed to expanding defence and security cooperation, working together on the repatriation of Vietnamese martyrs’ remains, and preserving historical monuments symbolizing the countries’ alliance.

Viet Nam and Laos further reaffirmed their close coordination and mutual support at ASEAN, the United Nations, and other regional forums.
