With the signing of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, also known as the Hanoi Convention, set to take place on October 25th, Viet Nam is stepping up efforts to strengthen cybersecurity through public-private collaboration.

Deputy Secretary General of Viet Nam Cybersecurity Association said Viet Nam aims to build a strong defence by bringing together cybersecurity companies to protect platforms and technologies, making cyberspace safer for everyone.

In 2024, Vietnam recorded 6,000 online fraud cases, resulting in losses exceeding 700 million US dollars. From February to October 2025, losses have already reached 110 million US dollars. The campaign will run from October through December 2025, featuring nationwide communication efforts, fraud warnings, and community engagement activities.
