Viet Nam elected Vice Chair of UNESCO

On June 11th, at the 42nd General Assembly of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris of France, Viet Nam was elected as Vice Chair representing the Asia-Pacific region.

In this executive position, Viet Nam will directly participate in building and approving the important UNESCO decisions on culture and steer the implementation of the 2003 Convention goals.

With this new responsibility, Viet Nam simultaneously takes on roles in four key UNESCO areas for the first time. The global community’s trust continues to affirm Viet Nam’s increasingly high position in the international arena, especially its contributions to UNESCO’s activities.
