Viet Nam’s Fishing Vessel Monitoring System to be complete

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tran Luu Quang has directed the ministry to collaborate with relevant ministries and agencies to finalize the Fishing Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) by August 20.

This system will operate 24/7 to detect violations, connect data, share information, and update the handling results of vessels breaking the law. An inter-agency task force has also been established to guide the implementation of the VMS system.
