Vice President Kamala Harris arrives in Delaware for campaign event

US Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Wilmington for an event as support for her presidential campaign begins pouring in.

She has raised a record amount from Democratic Party donors in the 24 hours since Biden stepped down from the White House race and offered his endorsement.

Her campaign claimed the haul was the largest 24-hour raise in presidential history. This reflects funds raised across the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees, the statement said, noting that over 888,000 grassroots donors contributed in her first day.
