






As the multi-party democratic general election is scheduled to be held on 28 December 2025, efforts are underway to ensure that the election is free and fair, that citizens are able to vote freely, that voter lists are complete and accurate, and that no eligible voters are left out. In this regard, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, together with the Chairs and Secretaries of the State and Township Sub Election Commissions, as well as officials from relevant departments at the state, district, and township levels, visited the combined district and township office in Taunggyi on 3 December to inspect the ongoing verification of voter lists for wards in Taunggyi, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and inclusion of all eligible voters.
After that, the Chief Minister and officials made field inspections in Kan Auk Ward, Taunggyi. They observed and encouraged officials who were conducting door-to-door checks to verify voter lists and ensure that all eligible voters were accounted for.
Similarly, on the morning of 3 December, Shan State Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Colonel Sein Win, together with responsible officials, also visited wards in Taunggyi to conduct on-site inspections of the door-to-door voter list verification process being carried out to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the voter lists.
In addition, officials conducted on-site inspections at the monastery compound of Yadana Thiri Ward in Taunggyi, where voter lists were being checked for accuracy. They also visited Kan Thar Ward to observe the door-to-door voter list verification efforts being carried out by the responsible personnel.
