As the SME Development department is conducting the training courses on production of value-added dried fruit products, plans are underway to produce and distribute value-added dried fruit products by using the vegetables and fruits which are grown in Nyaung Nha Pin Agricultural Zone.
Horticulturist, Nyaung Nha Pin Agricultural Zone 2, Thein Lin Oo said “We grow both vegetables and fruits in Nyaung Nha Pin Agricultural Zone. I grow several types of vegetables and fruits including Acacia concinna, roselle, chili, bitter gourd, ladies finger, banana, coconut, pineapple and mango. To distribute the seasonal fruits and vegetable products consistently for the convenience of the consumers and to earn extra income, we are trying to produce value-added dried fruit products such as dried lemon, dried tamarind, lemon powder and pineapple jam by using the techniques we have learnt from training courses conducted by the SME development department.”
The consumers can enjoy the seasonal fruits and vegetables occasionally thanks to the value-added dried fruits productions.
