Vaccine drive: COVID-19 vaccination continues in various states, regions

Vaccination is being carried out in full swing in various regions and states as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.

On October 7, doctors and nurses from public hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, and relevant healthcare workers in collaboration with volunteers gave COVID-19 vaccines to the people from Tamway township in Yangon Region, twenty-six townships in Ayeyawady Region, five townships in Rakhine State, and seven districts in Mandalay Region, respectively.

In addition, to assist in the control and prevention of the Covid-19 disease, military officers from various military commands in collaboration with district and township administrative officials, departmental personnel and members of civil society organizations (CSOs) conducted educational campaigns such as prevention of COVID-19, wearing of masks in public places and distribution of masks to the locals at schools, markets, streets, city entry points and crowded areas in Putao and Moenyin townships in Kachin State, Myeik and Dawei townships in Taninthayi Region, 44 townships in Yangon Region, five townships including Mahaaungmye Township in Mandalay Region.
